As the winter starts to settle in Crested Butte, Colorado, the small “last great Colorado ski town” will gear up for a big event with its third annual Mountain High Music Festival. The festival, which takes place January 11 – 15, 2017, will showcase an array of talent from some of the best singer-songwriters in the country music genre. Founded by lyrical genius Dean Dillon — whose songwriting credits include country hits by George Strait, Toby Keith, and Kenny Chesney — and set in the beautiful mountain town of Crested Butte, this one-of-a-kind musical gathering promises to be an amazing experience.
The five-day event will be jam-packed with exclusive opportunities for festival-goers. Several different ticket packages allow patrons to pick and choose how much a part of the music they want to be. We like the Bronze Pass. With it, attendees get to see performances by Jamey Johnson on January 12 and Ashley Monroe on January 13 at Mountaineer Square, and will join the singer-songwriters at various downtown Crested Butte locations for intimate performances on Bar Night, January 14. For the major music aficionado, there’s the VIP Platinum Pass, which is an all-access pass to every event and includes two exclusive opportunities to hang with the stars at the VIP Reception and Guitar Pull and the VIP after-party. At the VIP Reception and Guitar Pull, a mellow night of musical performances and songwriting, artists share insights about their songwriting processes and today’s hit songs, and audience members collaborate with artists on impromptu performances.
At the end of the Guitar Pull, stars will auction off their personal guitars to benefit the festival’s partner charities, Tough Enough to Wear Pink, a foundation dedicated to providing local funding for breast cancer awareness, prevention, education, support, breast screenings, and equipment; and the Adaptive Sports Center, a Crested Butte foundation that provides high-quality adventure activities for individuals with disabilities. Last year, Mountain High Music Festival raised a record amount. This year, it hopes to build on last year’s success and to continue inspiring artists and listeners to come together for a good cause.
