This week marked the much-anticipated Season 5 premiere of Nashville, and are we glad the show’s back. For the last two weeks, we’ve featured artists from the show: Jonathan Jackson last week and Maisy & Lennon the week before. This week, we’re continuing the Nashville Grand Ole Opry takeover with C&I’s October 2015 cover man, Charles Esten.

Last night’s premiere proved that Esten’s lovable and talented Deacon Claybourne will have a particularly dramatic story line this season, and we can’t wait to see where Esten takes his character. We’re hoping it leads him to have more time onstage, as his ability to win the hearts of his fans has as much to do with his strong singing voice as it does with his charisma.

In celebration of a wonderful season opening, this week’s Opry performance is Esten’s good-humored song “Pour Four More Por Favor.”
