The Cowboys & Indians staff would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of veteran actor Martin Milner, star of the enduringly popular TV series Route 66 and Adam-12, who passed away Sunday at age 83.
Like many of actors of his generation, Milner frequently spent time in the saddle during the golden age of TV westerns. Indeed, his western roots can be traced back all the way back to 1950, when he appeared in an episode of The Lone Ranger. Milner also played guest-starring roles in such series as Wagon Train, Rawhide, U.S. Marshal, The Virginian, A Man Called Shenandoah and Laredo. On the big screen, he played James Earp in Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957), and had a supporting role in Three Guns for Texas, a 1968 feature compiled from three episodes of Laredo.

Milner also worked opposite Gary Cooper in the 1952 western Springfield Rifle, and had roles in two World War II dramas starring John Wayne, Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) and Operation Pacific (1951).
